I am a Chemsitry PhD student at the University of Oxford. I am raising money for International Tree Foundation, an organisation that works with communities in Africa and the UK to establish sustainable community forestry projects, with the aims of protecting and regenerating trees and forests to conserve habitats rich in biodiversity as well as enhance human and environmental well-being. I want to support this cause because trees are excellent CO2 sinks, and we need to decrease the levels of this greenhouse gas in our atmosphere to mitigate climate change. This is the biggest problem we face today, and planting trees is a natural solution which will help restore the earth, which unfortunately we are destroying.
I would be thankful for any donations that will go into this project. This is my second year supporting ITF and I am looking forward to running the half marathon and raising funds for them.
