I'm running a half marathon to raise money for The International Tree Foundation. With well established programmes in the UK and Kenya, ITF have been involved with tree planting for nearly 100 years; your money is in safe hands, helping to protect the planet, promoting human well being and generating much needed income for Kenyan farmers.
£50 will plant 100 trees in Kenya and train a farmer in how to integrate trees into their fields. £10 could plant 20 trees in Mount Kenya Forest and ensure their survival. £15 plants a tree in the UK.
I'm not a natural runner, but dogged. I started from scratch a year ago. I've run in the snow across Port Meadow, in ridiculous humidity in New York, tackled hills in Yorkshire and weathered howling winds and rain on the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland. I'm determined to finish this half marathon, make the effort worthwhile and fund the planting of hundreds of trees!
Please help me reach my target of £500: so many would benefit and be grateful. Thank you, Louise x
